Blue velvet curtains

Working with the stage curtains through video and still works has opened up many possibilities with print based works and videos. The scale of these curtains is spectacular and due to there size they have the capacity to capture such subtle changes in the movement of air in the space. Kind of like a a membrane of skin. I had this idea of finding a way to solidify the curtain fabric in its hung folded form and creating long possibly 60-70cm wide sections that once solidified could be segmented and reformed into elaborate twisted sculptural forms. I also had the idea of possibly creating smaller scale ones, as models, that could be gifted to the community members involved through the process.
